Below is a Pre-Checklist to give you a general idea if you should apply to the Nuerodiversity Apprenticeship Program.

Must have a a documented traumatic brain injury, intellectual/developmental disability (including, but not limited to, Autism spectrum disorder, Cerebral palsy, or Down syndrome)

Can complete personal care with supervision

Can take medication with supervision
Am I a Good Fit?
If you can confidently answer “yes” to most of these questions, you’re likely a strong candidate for the Neurodiverse Apprenticeship Program and should consider applying. You don't need to submit this checklist - it's just for you.
Can you confidently answer “yes” to most of these questions?
☐ I can perform mild to moderate exercise for one-hour periods in all types of weather (including light rain and hot summer conditions).
☐ I have an interest in learning about nature.
☐ I am willing to try new things, including working with hand tools, wearing gloves and protective gear, lifting, pushing wheelbarrows, and “getting my hands dirty.”
☐ I am familiar with and enjoy outdoor activities such as canoeing, hiking, and fishing.
☐ I want to find future employment after completing the program.
☐ I can adapt to changes in routine.
☐ I can accept feedback from others.
☐ I show respect for myself and others.
☐ I have access to reliable transportation to and from the Blue Lotus Center.
What if I can't check all the boxes?
Please still consider applying even if you cannot check all the boxes! We encourage you to reach out for clarification, questions, or concerns.
