Volunteer Opportunities

Group Hosts

Help us welcome our guests and assist with activities so everyone enjoys their time at Blue Lotus. During the summer season, we need multiple people every day of the week to ensure our guests have a wonderful experience.

Job duties include:

• assisting guests in and out of boats

• launching and retrieving boats

• fitting life jackets

• helping guests catch fish

• monitoring the pool

• leading trail hikes

• enjoying conversations by the lake

• playing lawn games with guests

• and so much more!

We will tailor your responsibilities according to any physical accommodations as well as your interests. Also, caregivers will take care of any personal needs a guest my require. Most shifts are 4-5 hours and options include all seven days of the week and both days and evenings. Even one day makes a big difference- and if you want to come for many days, we will be thrilled to have you. Sign-up Genius is used for choosing shifts- we can show you how to use it, if needed.

Grounds 

There are two primary ways to help with upkeep of our gorgeous gardens and scenic trails:

Garden Party Wednesdays: Every Monday, June-Oct., from 9-11 drop in and work under the guidance of our master gardener, Suzanne Barker and the other folks in our garden party crew. No tools, experience or green thumb necessary.

Spring/Fall workdays: Join many other volunteers with helping us prepare the grounds for the season. There are a wide range of tasks available such as raking, spreading mulch, weeding, trail clearing, moving recreational equipment, and so much more.

Office Assistance

Prepare mailings and perform other administrative tasks such as updating the database, organizing files/photos, and conducting internet research.

Fundraising

Enjoy our event while also making sure everything runs smoothly. Assist with set-up, tear down, registration, auction spotting, and anything else that is needed.

Handy Person 

Share your carpentry, plumbing, electrical and other skills for a variety of projects, as needed.

Corporate Groups

Does your employer support volunteer hours? Blue Lotus is a great choice for both small and large groups of volunteers. We can set up a grounds workday just for you! Help with large groups is also an option.

Interested in getting involved? The first step is to complete and return our volunteer application. We will then be able to offer you options according to your interests and strengths. We will provide the appropriate training, and a staff person will always be available to answer questions and provide guidance.
